It was a fantastic experience, to witness the art of THEYYAM in person & performed by a highly experienced & very well trained artist, where you start to get goosebumps within 5 minutes of sitting through the performance, which lasts for about 30 minutes. It was an overwhelming experience, which is a must visit & should be in the Bucket list of every tourist visiting South India & particularly Cochin in Kerala. Also not to miss is the excellant display of Ancient Indian Martial Art form - KALARIPAYATTU, which is said to be the basis of most of the modern Martial Arts forms which is being practiced globally. It was performed by really excellent practitioners of the Martial Arts who are trained for years together & you can witness their mind bending display of Body flexibility & Expertise in using almost 10 - 15 ancient warfare weapons which were being used in Warfares all over the world untill the invention of Gunpowder. Overall it was a Fantastic experience to witness this Marquee event in our weekend visit to Cochin. P.S.- Just Go & Sit through this event, it will remain with you for the rest of your life, unless you get Dementia / Alzhimers.!!!! Nice Rahul Shivaram2024-12-17Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very good performers, clearly high quality and great makeup. Gives you an idea about what Kathakali dancing is about. The descriptions from the host were quite slow and long winded. She could have explained faster and had more dancing. I highly recommend this show for anyone interested in traditional art forms. The performances—Kathakali, Theeyam, and Kalaripayattu—are captivating and well-organized. The show starts with a helpful demo session, gradually immersing the audience. The artists are exceptional, showcasing immense skill and dedication, especially given the effort involved in wearing heavy costumes and performing complex routines. The sword fight during the Kalaripayattu performance was particularly thrilling—actual sparks flew! They were also patient with photo opportunities after the show. It's a fantastic way to experience both the art and the hard work behind it.
